Eligibility: Open to students studying in Class 10 and above. Applicable to those pursuing education in India or abroad.Applicants must be residents of West Bengal for at least 10 years. Low-interest rate of 4% per annum. An additional 1% concession for timely repayment.
Repayment Terms: Loan repayment period extends up to 15 years, including a moratorium period (study period plus one year).
Collateral-Free: No requirement for collateral or a guarantor.
Purpose of the Loan: Covers a range of educational expenses, including course fees, books, study materials, and computers.
Application Process: Students can apply through the official website (wb.gov.in) or the dedicated Student Credit Card portal.
Required Documents: Identity proof (e.g., Aadhaar, voter ID).
Proof of admission and residence certificate.Fee structure of the course and recent passport-size photograph.
Verification: Applications are verified by the institution and concerned authorities before the loan is disbursed.
