The World Environment Day celebration at Debnarayan Shikha Sansthan B.Ed and D.El.Ed college was a vibrant and engaging event aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices among students and faculty. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the college community. The day began with an awareness campaign where students posters highlighting the importance of environmental conservation. They focused on issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. A significant highlight of the event was a tree plantation drive conducted in the college campus. Students actively participated in planting saplings of native tree species, contributing to green cover and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment. The ceremony begins with the offering of water to the plants.  Principal sir and other teachers together planted several trees around the college.  The inauguration started with the chorus song of"Maru bijayer ketan uraye".  Then comes the "Bratchari song" sung by Navneetha Halder. At present, we have made a small attempt to bring Bratchari song back into our culture as it is on the verge of extinction.  So that the new generation gets acquainted with this culture which was introduced by Gurusdaya Dutta Mahashay. The special attraction of the program was a drama whose background was formed on the "Chipko movement".  The name of the play is -"tree our friend".  National Anthem was sung at the end of the ceremony. The World Environment Day celebration at Debnarayan Shikha Sansthan B.Ed and D.El.Ed college was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of environmental stewardship among students and faculty alike. It not only educated participants about pressing environmental issues but also encouraged them to take concrete actions towards sustainability. Through collaborative efforts and engaging activities, the event underscored the college's commitment to promoting a greener and healthier planet.
